Singapore-Canada Learning Exchange 2016

Canadian Alumni Singapore held our 6th Singapore-Canada Learning Exchange (SCLE) at The Arts House on 9th July 2016. We were honoured to have Canadian alumnus John Cherry, 2016 Lee Kuan Yew Water Prize Laureate, Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the University of Waterloo and Associate Director at The G360 Centre for Applied Groundwater Research, University of Guelph, to give the keynote address on “The role of groundwater in the global water crisis”.

The event was proudly sponsored by the Royal Bank of Canada and well-attended by participants from a diverse profile of alumni, guests and friends, including UNEP ASEAN Youth Environment Network delegates who were in Singapore for Singapore International Water Week (SIWW).

Thank you to our special guest and keynote speaker, Prof. Cherry, H.E. Heather Grant, High Commissioner of Canada, moderator Prof. Lim Soo Ping, CA-S Board member, event sponsor Royal Bank of Canada, photographer David Loh, Elaton LLP, volunteers, and all who joined us.

Look forward to the next SCLE!

Canadian Alumni Network Singapore (CANsg) was formed by a volunteer group of Colombo Plan scholars in 1979. It is managed by an elected Executive Committee with guidance from a Board of Advisors. The High Commissioner of Canada to Singapore was invited to serve as Vice-Chair in the founding Board of Advisors, a tradition which continues today.
